Apple introduced this iMac model on August 4, 2020. This specific model is a CTO version of the iMac 27-Inch “Core i5” 3.3 (5K, 2020) (MXWU2LL/A) or iMac “Core i7” 3.8 (5K, 2020) (MXWV2LL/A). However, it is listed as a separate model for users’ convenience. This iMac model is similar to the other variants of the iMac 27-Inch 2020 model but features a faster processor.
The processor of this iMac is a 14 nm 64-bit 3.6 GHz Intel Core i9 chip with 10 cores which is significantly faster than its 2019 iMac predecessors. It features a shared 20 MB L3 cache. It has 8 GB DDR4 RAM. The default storage space of this model is 512 GB SSD. This model can be equipped with two variants of the graphics processor. It can be either a Radeon Pro 5300 graphics processor (4 GB video memory) or a Radeon Pro 5500 XT graphics processor (8 GB video memory). A security chip T2 is also installed in this model.
The display size of this iMac model is 27-Inch, a 5K Retina display with 5120 x 2880 display resolution. Unlike its previous versions, this model also supports True Tone technology. The display of this model can also support the Nano Texture surface to reduce glares and adjust coloring.
