About This iPad
The iPad Mini 3 is very similar to the iPad Mini 2 with few changes such as the improvement of the operating system that comes with iOS 8.1 (12B410) there is also the absence of a 32 GB version of the device which is seen to be too small to be useful at the time. There is the addition of a white and gold-colored casing, in addition to the white and silver and, black and space grey colored versions that are available with the iPad Mini 2.

Screen Size and Resolution
The iPad Mini 3 has a 7.9 inch IPS LED-backlit touch-sensitive display that supports a native resolution of 2048×1536 (326 ppi). It featured both a front 1.2 megapixel “FaceTime HD” camera of and a rear 5 megapixel “iSight” camera.

Upgradability
The Operating System installed on the iPad Mini 3 can be upgraded from iOS 8.1 (12B410) to current iOS. However, no physical upgradability is present in the device due to the complex nature of fitting all components into such a compact form.
