About this MacBook Pro
Apple officially launched this 16-Inch MacBook Pro series on October 18, 2021. It comes with one of Apple’s latest chips, M1 Max. This model shared a lot of features and specs with MacBook Pro “M1 Pro” 10-Core/16-Core 16-Inch (2021). However, the significant differences are the high-performing processor, more RAM, and GPU cores. This MacBook Pro 2021 series has some clear improvements as compared to its 2020 MacBook Pro Intel predecessors.
The 10-core 3.2 GHz M1 Max chip powers the execution and processing of this notebook. The ten cores of the processor are further divided into eight performance cores (P-cores) and two efficiency cores (E-cores). It is specially designed for raw speed while maintaining efficiency. The Graphics Processing Unit of this model has 24-cores working alongside the 16-core Neural Engine to maximize its functioning.
Unlike MacBook Pro 2021 entry models, this notebook features a more prominent display size of 16.2-Inch. Its display uses Liquid Retina XDR, providing a 3456 x 2234 pixel resolution at 254 pixels per inch. A notch is on the top center of the display, holding a 1080p FaceTime HD webcam. It uses a simple-looking Magic Keyboard with a TouchID sensor for biometric security. This device has a six-speaker system with force-canceling woofers, which sounds excellent. It features a Force Touch trackpad that lets you control the on-screen pointer by sliding your finger on it.
The MacBook Pro M1 Max 16-Inch 2021 model has various connectivity options. 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 are supported for wireless connections. Physical ports of this device include 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, an SDXC-capable SD card slot, a MagSafe 3 port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
It is available in two colors, Silver and Darker Space Gray. This MacBook Pro comes installed with macOS Monterey 12.0.1 and can be upgraded to the latest macOS. The weight of this notebook is around 4.8 lbs (2.2 kg).
