Apple released the Mac Pro 2019 12-Core with a 3.3 GHz processor on June 3, 2019. This model is designed for professional users with high-performance specifications. This model boasts significant improvements, both in performance and design, compared to its Mac Pro predecessor. This Mac Pro 2019 offers several expandability options, including twelve RAM slots and eight PCIe slots. This specific model may come with a different default setup or as a BTO or CTO option.
The Apple Mac Pro 12-Core (2019) is driven by a powerful 3.3 GHz Intel Xeon W (W-3235) with 64-bit architecture. This processor has twelve cores, each with a clock speed of 3.3 GHz and support for multithreading, and can reach speeds of up to 4.4 GHz with Turbo Boost. The processor also boasts 31.25 MB of cache and a T2 security chip to secure the boot process and provide hardware-level encryption for data.
Initially, the graphics card for this model was the AMD Radeon Pro 580X with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory, which was later upgraded to the AMD Radeon Pro W5500X with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory for better performance and graphics quality. The default RAM for this model is 32 GB DDR4 with a minimum speed of 2933 MHz, and it can also be configured with additional RAM options.
The standard storage for this model is an expandable 256 GB SSD, which was later updated to a 512 GB SSD in 2022. It has a standard storage speed of 3.4 GB/s. This model is delivered with a Silver and Black Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and a Magic Mouse 2. A Magic Trackpad 2 can also be purchased as an optional addition later.
It boasts a range of connectivity options as part of its standard setup, including two USB 3.0 ports, four Thunderbolt 3 ports, two HDMI 2.0 ports, two 10 Gb Ethernet ports, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack with headset support. This unit can be configured to 1 TB, 2 TB, 4 TB, or 8 TB of SSD storage configured with two 512 GB, two 1 TB, two 2 TB, or two 4 TB SSD modules, respectively, for an additional cost. Furthermore, this machine originally came with AMD Radeon Pro 580X graphics with default 8 GB of GDDR5 memory with a maximum VRAM of 64 GB, which was later changed to AMD Radeon Pro W5500X with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory starting on July 1, 2020.
This Mac Pro was originally equipped with the AMD Radeon Pro 580X GPU, which supports a maximum of six 4K displays, two 5K displays, or two Pro Display XDRs with a resolution of 6K. However, as of March 8, 2022, Apple switched the standard graphics to the AMD Radeon Pro W5500X, which can handle up to four 4K displays, one 5K display, or one (6K Apple) Pro Display XDR.
The Mac Pro comes pre-installed with Mac OS X 10.15.1 (19B88) on it. This is powered by a 3.3 GHz 12-Core Xeon W processor that has twelve cores. Furthermore, it also has a turbo of 4.4 GHz. It also has a T2 security chip.
The device is run 2666 MHz DDR4 ECC memory, and the RAM can be upgraded from 32 GB up to 1 TB. This unit is centered on a 64-bit architecture which is the same as previous models.
Although the Mac Pro comes with 32 GB of RAM but can be upgraded to 1 TB.
