Screen Size and Resolution

The iBook has a built-in display of 14.1 inch TFT XGA active-matrix display with an 1024×768 native resolution and also 2nd Mirroring Display support option with a maximum 1024×768 resolution.

Processor & Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

The Apple iBook has MacOS X 10.3 (7B85) pre-installed in it, a 1.0 GHz PowerPC 7457 (G4) processor, while its graphics are supported by a 4X AGP ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 graphics with 32 MB of DDR SDRAM. The Windows OS support modules that we have come to love and expect were not available at the time of development and thus were not available for the device.

The Apple iBook device is built with a 64k level 1 cache and 256k “on chip” level 2 cache. It processes are backed by 256 MB of RAM.

The Apple iBook comes with a 61-watt-hour-Lithium Ion battery with an estimated battery life of 6 hours. This figure is based on moderate usage of the device under normal conditions. Weather temperatures as well as heavy usage allowed this figure to vary wildly.

Upgradability

Although the iBook comes with 256 MB of RAM it can be upgraded to up to 1152 MB of RAM. The Operating System of the iBook can also be upgraded from its pre-installed MacOS X 10.3 (7B85) up to MacOS X 10.5.8.
