About this Apple Watch

The Apple Watch Hermes (Series 9) is a luxury collaboration between Apple and the French brand Hermes. Released on September 2023, this model offers a premium take on the 41 mm stainless steel Apple Watch Series 9, complete with an “Always-On” 352×430 LTPO OLED screen protected by a layer of sapphire crystal. It also features custom packaging, unique watch faces, and software tweaks that distinguish it from standard Apple Watch Series 9 models.          

Much like its predecessor, the Apple Watch Series 8, the Series 9 models come with a range of improvements. They boast a new processor, a brighter display, support for a “magical new double tap gesture,” and enhanced Siri capabilities. These watches, including the Hermes edition, can function independently with cellular connectivity, but they are still designed to work in conjunction with an iPhone XS or later running iOS 17 or newer for certain features.    

Controlled by a Digital Crown with haptic feedback and featuring a touch-capable display, all Apple Watch Series 9 devices come with a ceramic and sapphire crystal back that connects to the charger. The battery life is estimated to be “up to 18 hours” under typical usage, but activating the “Low Power Mode” can extend it to up to 36 hours by disabling the Always-On Display and some other functions.        

The 41 mm Apple Watch Hermes (Series 9) offers housing options in either silver Stainless Steel or “Space Black” Stainless Steel. Notably, when purchased from Apple, the available band options are limited to cloth or rubber materials, a departure from previous Hermes models which featured leather bands.   

Options include a Silver Stainless Steel case with a “Bridon Double Tour” Band and a “Kilim Single Tour” Band, but other band choices are available. For models with black housings, a Hermes Sport Band in black is included, while models with silver housings come with an orange Hermes Sport Band.  ​
