The Apple iPhone 15 Plus, model A3093, was unveiled to the public on September 12, 2023, and became available for purchase on September 22, 2023. This model is designed for various international carriers, including those in Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Saudi Arabia, as well as US territories like Guam and the US Virgin Islands. However, its technical compatibility with global carriers is extensive, thanks to its support for eSIM technology.  

The iPhone 15 Plus boasts a large, haptic-touch capable 6.7-inch “Super Retina XDR” display, with a resolution of 2796×1290 pixels at 460 ppi, which nearly covers the entire front of the device. This display is housed within an aluminum case with a contoured edge design, flat sides, and a durable “Ceramic Shield” front cover. The device also features a “color-infused” glass back with an integrated “MagSafe” magnetic charging connector. It is available in a variety of soft hues, including Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green, and a standard Black.   

Photography on the iPhone 15 Plus is advanced, with a “TrueDepth” front camera located within the “Dynamic Island” that supports Face ID, has a f/1.9 aperture, and is capable of taking 12-megapixel photos and shooting 4K video. The rear camera setup includes a 48-megapixel “Main” camera with a f/1.6 aperture and a 12-megapixel “Ultra Wide” camera with a f/2.4 aperture and a 120-degree field of view, both of which are capable of 4K video recording.    

Internally, the device is powered by the Apple A16 Bionic processor, which operates at 3.5 GHz and features six cores, split between performance and efficiency. It also includes a 5-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. The iPhone 15 Plus comes with 6 GB of RAM and offers storage options of 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB. 

Connectivity is robust, with support for 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2×2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, and “second generation” Ultra Wideband. It also features NFC for Apple Pay, “Express Cards with power reserve” for transit systems, and a USB-C port. The device is capable of dual eSIM support and also accommodates a single hardware nano-SIM.   

Apple’s battery life estimates for the iPhone 15 Plus are impressive, with up to 100 hours of audio playback, 26 hours of video playback, and 20 hours of streamed video playback. The phone is also designed to be durable, with IP68 water and dust resistance, allowing it to withstand a maximum depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes.
