Apple introduced the iPad Pro M4 13-inch (Wi-Fi+Cellular China) on May 7, 2024. This model boasts significant upgrades over its predecessors, such as an improved display, enhanced processing power, and better connectivity options.      

The iPad Pro M4 is powered by the Apple M4 processor, with a base clock speed of 4.4 GHz. This model features a 10-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine, delivering exceptional graphics performance and efficient machine learning capabilities. The memory bandwidth is rated at 120 GB/s, ensuring swift and seamless multitasking.          

This iPad Pro sports a 13-inch “Tandem OLED” backlit Ultra Retina XDR display with a resolution of 2752×2064 at 264 ppi. The display supports ProMotion technology for adaptive refresh rates, Wide color (P3), True Tone, and HDR content with a peak brightness of 1600 nits. The screen is surrounded by a thin black bezel, and the device is available in silver and Space Black.          

For storage, the iPad Pro M4 is available in configurations of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB. Models with 256 GB and 512 GB of storage come with 8 GB of RAM and a 9-core CPU, while those with 1 TB and 2 TB of storage are equipped with 16 GB of RAM and a 10-core CPU. Additionally, the higher storage models can be configured with Nano-texture glass to reduce glare.         

The iPad Pro M4 includes a Thunderbolt/USB 4 port, support for external keyboards and trackpads via the Smart Connector, and compatibility with the new Apple Pencil Pro. The device also features a 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera with Face ID and Center Stage capabilities, and a 12-megapixel Wide rear camera that supports 4K video recording.     

Connectivity options include dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6E) with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.3, and 5G cellular support. The device also features a four-speaker audio system and a studio-quality four-mic array, ensuring high-quality sound and voice recording.           

The battery life of the iPad Pro M4 is rated at 10 hours of web surfing on Wi-Fi or video playback, and 9 hours when using cellular data. The model utilizes a software-based eSIM for cellular connectivity, as it lacks a physical SIM slot.    

Compared to its predecessor, the iPad Pro M4 13-inch model offers a slimmer profile, faster performance, a superior display, and enhanced front camera orientation. However, it does drop the Ultra Wide rear camera and one internal microphone. Additionally, the cellular model no longer supports mmWave 5G or physical nano SIM cards.
