Apple launched the iPad Pro M4 13-inch (Wi-Fi + Cellular) on May 7, 2024. This model brings several enhancements over its predecessor, including a faster processor, superior display technology, and improved camera features, making it a robust tool for both professional and personal use.     

The iPad Pro M4 13-inch is equipped with an antireflective 13-inch “Tandem OLED” backlit 2752×2064 “Ultra Retina XDR” display. This display, with a pixel density of 264 ppi and a maximum brightness of 1000 nits for both SDR and XDR content, offers vibrant and sharp visuals. The screen is surrounded by a thin black bezel and encased in a sleek, slim design available in either silver or a dark “Space Black” color.         

Under the hood, the iPad Pro M4 is powered by a 4.4 GHz Apple M4 processor, accompanied by a 10-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine, providing 120 GB/s of memory bandwidth. Depending on the storage configuration, it comes with either 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM. The 256 GB and 512 GB models are equipped with 9 CPU cores (3 performance and 6 efficiency), while the 1 TB and 2 TB models boast 10 CPU cores (4 performance and 6 efficiency).         

The device features a Thunderbolt / USB 4 port, supporting various peripherals and high-speed data transfer. It also supports external keyboards and trackpads via the “Smart Connector” and introduces the new Apple Pencil Pro, which offers additional sensors for enhanced interactivity, including squeeze, barrel roll, and haptic feedback. Charging the Apple Pencil is seamless, thanks to its magnetic connection on the side of the device.        

The iPad Pro M4 is equipped with advanced camera technology. It includes a 12-megapixel “TrueDepth” front camera that supports 1080p video recording and the “Center Stage” feature, which keeps subjects in the frame during video calls. The rear camera setup includes a 12-megapixel “Wide” camera capable of 4K video recording. However, unlike its predecessor, it no longer features an “Ultra Wide” camera.    

For connectivity, the iPad Pro M4 supports dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6E) with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.3, and a Thunderbolt / USB 4 port. It also features a studio-quality four-microphone array and a four-speaker system, ensuring clear audio for both recording and playback.          

The battery life is impressive, offering up to 10 hours of web surfing on Wi-Fi or watching videos, and up to 9 hours of web surfing using cellular data. This model includes a software-based eSIM for cellular connectivity, allowing users to switch carriers without the need for a physical SIM card.   

In terms of design and build, the iPad Pro M4 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, with improved display quality and performance. The landscape-oriented front camera and support for the new Apple Pencil Pro add to its versatility and functionality, making it a powerful tool for creative professionals, students, and tech enthusiasts alike.
