The watch operates in extreme temperature conditions, ranging from -20° C to 55° C, and is certified to military durability standards (MIL-STD-810H).

The display of the Ultra 2 is noted for its brightness, reaching up to 3000 nits, making it easily readable even in direct sunlight. It also features an Always-On Retina LTPO OLED screen, offering clear visibility in various lighting conditions. The watch includes a new Modular Ultra watch face, capable of displaying up to six complications for comprehensive customization.  

For sports and outdoor activities, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is a powerhouse. It features dual-frequency GPS, integrating both L1 and L5 frequencies for precise tracking. The watchOS 10 operating system supports a wide range of sports tracking features, including support for cycling sensors and enhanced running analysis. For diving enthusiasts, the watch is compatible with recreational scuba diving and includes a depth gauge and a dedicated Depth app.       

In terms of navigation, the Compass app has been updated to include new waypoints and elevation data from the barometer, although some limitations in native GPX navigation features were noted. Users have the option to explore third-party mapping and navigation services for a more comprehensive experience.            

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 continues to offer health and wellness features such as ECG, heart rate monitoring, and crash detection. However, it lacks advancements in areas like blood pressure detection or sleep apnea detection, focusing instead on traditional health metrics tracked in Apple Health.
