About this iPad Pro
Apple released the iPad Pro A2436 model on October 18, 2022. This iPad Pro model has a faster processor and architecture, faster Wi-Fi, more advanced Bluetooth, and ProRes video capture compared to its predecessors. It is a Wi-Fi-only model that does not support the cellular network of A-GPS.
The iPad Pro 12.9-inch (Wi-Fi Only – 6th Gen) is powered by Apple’s powerful M2 processor, which has eight cores. The processor has four performance cores and four efficiency cores. It has a clock speed of 3.49 GHz. This model also features a 10-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and a memory bandwidth of 100 GB/s.
The iPad Pro A2436 features a 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR display which delivers a pixel resolution of 2732 x 2048 at 264 ppi. The display of this iPad Pro is fully laminated and anti-reflective with the mini-LED backlit feature. It also supports Apple ProMotion technology which adaptively adjusts frame rates (up to 120 Hz). Additionally, it comes with Wide-color (P3) and True Tone support. This Liquid Retina XDR display has a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and delivers true-to-life quality visuals making it an excellent display for viewing and editing HDR images and videos.
The A2436 iPad Pro model has dual rear cameras, known as Pro Camera System, and a single TrueDepth front camera. It also supports a LiDAR scanner. The Pro Camera System has one 10 MP Ultra-Wide angle camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 125-degree field of view. It is used to take still photographs and shoot 4K videos. The second camera is a 12 MP Wide angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture that covers a fairly wide field of view. The front-mounted 12 MP TrueDepth camera is responsible for FaceID verification. It also can record videos up to 1080p and supports the “Center Stage” feature for automatically panning and zooming the objects in the frame. The front camera has an f/2.4 aperture and a 122-degree field of view.
This iPad Pro model supports Apple Pencil 2nd-Gen (A2051, MU8F2AM/A), which can be charged magnetically. Apple introduced a new Hover feature in this iPad Pro model, which intuitively creates a projection of the Apple pencil before touching the display. Additionally, this iPad Pro supports external keyboards and trackpads.
This iPad Pro 12.9-inch 6th-gen model has upgradeable RAM and storage capacity. It can be equipped with either 8 GB or 16 GB RAM depending on the storage choice (8 GB for 128, 256, or 512 GB storage and 16 GB for 1 TB or 2 TB storage).
A thin black bezel surrounds this iPad Pro’s display. This model has a thin case with rounded corners and flat sides. It has a Silver or a darker Space Gray option for the back.
The connectivity options for this iPad Pro model are Thunderbolt / USB 4, simultaneous dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6E) with 2×2 MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.3. It also has a four-speaker system and five microphones.

The RAM of this iPad Pro model depends on the storage capacity. It supports up to 8 GB of RAM when configured with 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB storage. Additionally, it can be upgraded to 16 GB for 1 TB or 2 TB storage capacity.
Screen Size and Resolution
This iPad Pro model features a bigger, brighter, fully-laminated, anti-reflective, 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR display equipped with mini-LED backlit functionality. This display supports a 2D backlighting system with 2596 full-array local dimming zones. It uses an IPS LCD panel that delivers 2732 by 2048 pixels for a total of 5.6 million pixels with 264 pixels per inch. This Liquid Retina XDR display supports 600 nits max brightness (SDR), 1000 nits full-screen brightness, and 1600 nits peak HDR brightness. The display’s contrast ratio is 1,000,000:1. It also supports P3 wide color, True Tone, and ProMotion technology (automatically adjusts the display refresh rate up to 120 Hz). It is also compatible with Reference Mode for a more color-accurate workflow. This iPad Pro model’s display is covered by fingerprint-resistant oleophobic and antireflection coating for protection against scratches and oils. This model lacks a Home button.
OS & Processor
Apple introduced its latest M2 processor featuring eight cores (four performance and four efficiency cores) in this iPad Pro. It is a 5 nm 64-bit CPU with a 3.49 GHz clock speed. A 10-core graphics processor is also integrated with the CPU that works parallelly to handle all graphical tasks of this iPad Pro. It also has a 16-core Neural Engine that allows this iPad Pro to work more efficiently with less battery drainage. The memory bandwidth of this model is 100 GB/s.
The iPad Pro A2436 comes with a pre-installed iPadOS 16.1 (20B82). It also fully supports the current version of the iPadOS (iPadOS 16).
Battery
This iPad Pro model has a built-in rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery of 40.88 Whr. Apple claimed that the battery life of this iPad Pro is 10 hours of web surfing (Wi-Fi) or watching videos.
Size and Weight
The iPad Pro A2436 is slightly heavier than the 3rd-Gen iPad Pro model, weighing around 1.5 pounds (682 g) in weight. It is 8.46 inches wide, 11.04 inches tall, and 0.25 inches thick (depth).
