The introduction date for the Apple Mac mini “M1” 8-Core is November 10th, 2020, and it is a successor of the Apple Mac mini “Core i5” 3.0 (Late 2018). The Mac mini “M1” is powered by Apple’s most powerful chip designed specifically for the Mac. It is optimized for Mac systems, in which small size and power efficiency are critically important. The result is dramatically improved performance and efficiency, and the M1 is the first personal computer chip built using cutting-edge 5-nanometer process technology. Compared to the previous-generation Macs, the M1 delivers up to 3.5x faster CPU performance, up to 6x faster GPU performance, and up to 15x faster machine learning, all while enabling battery life of up to 2x longer. The 8GB unified memory is configurable to 16Gb if there is a need for the user applications.
All Mac mini systems are configured by default without a display, keyboard, or mouse, but numerous Apple and third-party options are available. This Mac comes with more than 30 built-in applications that cover many areas to satisfy user requirements. It also has accessibility features to help people with disabilities with support for vision, hearing, mobility, and learning, such as Voice Control, VoiceOver, Zoom, Increase Contrast, Reduce Motion, Siri and Dictation, Switch Control, and Closed Captions.
The unit can simultaneously support up to two displays (6K and 4K resolution at 60Hz). Besides the Ethernet port (configurable to 10Gb Ethernet), on the back side, there are two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, one HDMI, and two separate USB-A ports. The two USB-A ports (up to 5Gb/s) and the HDMI port are close to the 3.5 mm headphone jack. A built-in speaker, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and an HDMI port with multichannel audio output provide audio support. The case color is silver.
The storage memory starts from 256GB SSD and is configurable to 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB.
The diagonal measure of the screen is 6.1”, the resolution is 1792×828, 326 ppi with a 1400:1 contrast ratio.
The Apple M1 chip features an 8-core CPU, an 8-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. The memory default is 8GB, but it can be configurable up to 16GB.
The storage memory starts from 256GB SSD and is configurable to 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB.
The battery provides continuous playback depending on the playback type so that it can run audio playback for about 65 hours, video for about 17 hours, and video stream for about 10 hours. It takes just 30 minutes to charge the battery to 50% of its capacity and also supports wireless charging; hence the user can avoid battery shortage situations.
The height of the Mac mini MGNR3LL/A is 1.4 inches, the width is 7.7 inches, and the depth is 7.7 inches. The device’s weight is around 2.6 pounds and varies by configuration and manufacturing process.
