Launched on October 30, 2023, with initial deliveries starting on November 7, 2023, this model showcases a blend of high performance and advanced features, making it a standout choice for professionals and power users.
At the heart of the MacBook Pro M3 Max is the Apple M3 Max processor, a 3 nm, 64-bit SoC with a 4.05 GHz clock speed. This processor comprises 16 cores, including 12 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, ensuring a balance between power and energy efficiency. Accompanying the CPU is a robust 40-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine, enhancing the machine’s capabilities in graphics-intensive tasks and machine learning applications. The memory bandwidth of this model is an impressive 400 GB/s.
The MacBook Pro features a 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, offering a resolution of 3456 x 2234 at 254 ppi. The display boasts a peak brightness of 1600 nits for HDR content, a sustained brightness of 1000 nits, and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It supports 1 billion colors, Wide color (P3), True Tone, and ProMotion technology, which allows for adaptive refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The onboard storage starts at 1 TB SSD, which can be upgraded at the time of purchase. The standard RAM is 48 GB, with options to upgrade to 64 GB or 128 GB at the time of purchase. However, the RAM is not user-upgradable after purchase.
In terms of battery life, Apple estimates that the MacBook Pro M3 Max can deliver between 15 to 22 hours of runtime, depending on usage. The model is offered in two color options: silver and Space Black. It weighs approximately 4.8 lbs (2.16 kg) and measures 0.66 inches in height, 14.01 inches in width, and 9.77 inches in depth.
