The Apple MacBook Pro “M3 Max” 16-inch model was launched in late 2023. This model is powered by the Apple M3 Max processor, a 3 nm, 64-bit SoC with 14 cores (10 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores), and a clock speed of 4.05 GHz which is a significant upgrade over its MacBook Pro 2022 predecessor. It boasts a 30-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine, enhancing its performance in graphics-intensive tasks and machine learning applications. The memory bandwidth of this model is an impressive 300 GB/s.      

The MacBook Pro features a 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, offering a resolution of 3456 x 2234 at 254 ppi. The display is capable of delivering up to 1000 nits of sustained brightness, a peak of 1600 nits for HDR content, and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. It supports 1 billion colors, Wide color (P3), True Tone, and ProMotion technology for adaptive refresh rates up to 120 Hz, along with fixed refresh rates for specific needs. The display also includes a notch at the top center, housing the webcam and sensors.       

For connectivity, this MacBook Pro includes Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.3, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, an SDXC-capable SD card slot, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It also features a MagSafe 3 power connector for charging. The model supports up to four external displays, with specific resolutions and refresh rates depending on the connection type.       

The MacBook Pro M3 Max is equipped with a 1080p FaceTime HD webcam, a high-fidelity six-speaker sound system with force-canceling woofers, a backlit Magic Keyboard with a Touch ID sensor, and a large Force Touch trackpad. The onboard storage starts at 1 TB SSD and can be configured up to 8 TB at the time of purchase. The standard RAM is 36 GB, which can be upgraded to a maximum of 96 GB at the time of purchase, but it is not user-upgradable afterward.   

This 16-inch model is available in two colors: silver and Space Black. It weighs approximately 4.8 lbs (2.16 kg) and measures 0.66 inches in height, 14.01 inches in width, and 9.77 inches in depth. The battery life is estimated to be between 15 to 22 hours, depending on usage, and it comes with a 140W USB-C Power Adapter.
