Apple launched the Mac Pro 16-core 3.2 GHz Rack model on June 3, 2019. This model has identical internals to its tower variant but has a different Rack-Mountable case design. These models are more expensive than their tower counterparts, with the capability to slide into a 5U rack.
The Apple Mac Pro 16-core (2019) is designed to deliver high performance to meet the needs of professional users. It features a powerful 64-bit 3.2 GHz Intel Xeon W processor (W-3245) with sixteen cores, multithreading support, and a clock speed of 3.2 GHz. It can reach up to 4.4 GHz with Turbo Boost technology. The device also has 38 MB of cache and a T2 security chip for enhanced security during the boot process and data storage encryption. The Mac Pro is also equipped with an AMD Radeon Pro W5500X graphics card with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory for high-quality graphics performance. However, this model initially featured MD Radeon Pro 580X graphics with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory. This model comes with 32 GB DDR4 RAM with a minimum speed of 2933 MHz and the option to upgrade to a larger amount of RAM. This Mac Pro has a standard 256 GB SSD storage configuration, which was later changed to 512 GB SSD in 2022. It features a storage speed of 3.4 GB/s.
The Mac Pro 16-core (2019) has a sleek silver and black Magic Keyboard with a Numeric Keypad and a Magic Mouse 2, providing a seamless user experience. The option of a Magic Trackpad 2 is also available for those who want to expand their input options.
Regarding connectivity, this Mac Pro model provides a range of options, including two USB 3.0 ports, four Thunderbolt 3 ports, two HDMI 2.0 ports, two 10 Gb Ethernet ports, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack with headset support. Additionally, the Mac Pro supports the latest wireless connectivity standards through 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, making it easy to connect to other devices without cables. The presence of available PCIe slots also makes it possible to add more connectivity options.
This Mac Pro model is pre-installed with the latest MacOS X 10.15.1 (19B88) version, offering a ready-to-use, high-performance system for professional users.
