The iPhone 3G was an improvement on the original iPhone as it added support for 3G and GPS functionality. Bluetooth had been upgraded from Bluetooth 2.0 to Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and its 2.0-megapixel camera allowed for “geo-tagging” which allowed users to note the location of pictures that were taken. The accelerometer and ambient light features remained while an extra proximity sensor was added as opposed to the single sensor present in the original iPhone. Its qualities might seemingly have faded out in these times of accelerated tech advancement but it was a leading edge device during its introduction to the market.
