About this iPad

The iPad 4 had many features in common with the iPad 3. Some of the upgrades in this version include the front camera (1080p VGA quality camera to 1.2 MP 720p camera) and the processor (1.0 GHz A5X to 1.4 GHz A6X) as well as the operating system (iOS 5.1 to iOS 6).

The iPad 4 also had a 128 GB storage version available. It still remained a stand-out tablet device even when competing with the various similar devices in the market.

The iPad 4 came with a 1 GB RAM and had options that came with 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of storage. All storage is provided curtesy of Apple’s flash storage chips.

Screen Size and Resolution

The iPad 4 had a 9.7 inch IPS LED-backlit “retina” display that supported a native resolution of 2048×1536 (264 ppi). It featured both a front 720p 1.2 Megapixel “FaceTime” camera of and a rear 5 megapixel “iSight” camera.

OS & Processor

The iPad 4 came with iOS 6 for its operating system. It was powered by a custom developed 1.4 GHz dual-core Apple A6X processor.

Battery

The iPad 4 was equipped with a Lithium Polymer battery that supported up to 9-10 hours of surfing of the web on Wi-Fi, watching avideo, or listening to music there was no official report on the amount of standby time that the battery could support.

Upgradability

The Operating System installed on the tablet could be upgraded from iOS 6 to iOS 10. However, no physical upgradability was present in the device due to the complex nature of fitting all components into such a compact form.
