This iMac was introduced on October 16, 2014. Featuring a higher resolution display, faster graphics processor, and main processor than its predecessors, this iMac model has default Fusion Drive and support for Thunderbolt 2. This iMac is mainly a model assembled and configured according to customer requirements. It is identical to iMac Core i5 3.5 27-Inch Aluminum (Late 2014/Retina 5K) except for the processor and L3 cache. The Apple iMac Aluminum (5K, Late 2014) comes with a 27-inch high-resolution Retina 5K display. The display of this iMac uses IPS technology responsible for providing better visual quality and 5120 x 2880 native resolution. The connectivity options include 802.11ac Wi-Fi (backward compatible), four USB 3.0 ports, dual Thunderbolt 2 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and a standard Bluetooth 4.0 connection. It has a 64-bit Core i7 Quad-core Haswell 4.0 GHz processor with an 8 MB shared L3 cache. Like the previous iMac models, such as MF886LL/A, it features the same Aluminum case design (thick in the middle, thin at the edges).
This model has a FaceTime HD webcam placed at the top of the display. It also has built-in stereo speakers with excellent audio quality and generates a dimensional sound with robust bass. This iMac model is shipped with a wireless keyboard. It also comes with an option to either choose a multi-touch Magic Mouse or a multi-touch Magic Trackpad. A traditional Apple mouse can also be ordered to ship with it. This iMac model is 51.6 cm in height, 65.0 cm in width, and 20.3 cm in depth and weighs 9.54 kg.
