The Apple iPhone 15 Plus was released on September 22, 2023, following the start of pre-orders on September 15, 2023. This model, designated for the US market and Puerto Rico, is compatible with global carriers through eSIM technology, as it does not support hardware nano-SIM cards.
Featuring a 6.7-inch “Super Retina XDR” display with a resolution of 2796×1290 pixels at 460 ppi, the iPhone 15 Plus offers a nearly edge-to-edge screen experience, enhanced by the new “Dynamic Island” which integrates system alerts and activities. It is equipped with a new 48-megapixel “Main” camera with an f/1.6 aperture and a 12-megapixel “Ultra Wide” camera with an f/2.4 aperture and 120-degree field of view, both capable of 4K video recording. The front “TrueDepth” camera, housed within the Dynamic Island, supports Face ID, takes 12-megapixel photos, and records 4K video.
The design of the iPhone 15 Plus includes an aluminum case with contoured edges, flat sides, a durable “Ceramic Shield” glass front, and a “color-infused” glass back with an integrated “MagSafe” magnetic charging feature. It is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance and comes in five colors: Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green, and Black.
Powered by the 3.5 GHz “Apple A16 Bionic” processor, the iPhone 15 Plus has two performance cores, four efficiency cores, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It is available with 6 GB of RAM and storage capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB. Connectivity options include 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2×2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, “second generation” Ultra Wideband, NFC for Apple Pay, and dual eSIM support.
Apple’s battery life estimates for the iPhone 15 Plus are up to 100 hours for audio playback, 26 hours for video playback, and 20 hours for streamed video playback.
