About this iPad
Apple introduced the iPad Pro M4 11-inch (Wi-Fi+Cellular China) on May 7, 2024. This model boasts an antireflective 11-inch “Tandem OLED” backlit Ultra Retina XDR display with a resolution of 2420×1668 (264 ppi) and peak brightness of 1000 nits for SDR and XDR full-screen content. The display supports 1 billion colors, Wide color (P3), True Tone, and ProMotion technology, which adapts the refresh rate between 10 Hz and 120 Hz. The thin black bezel and slim case with rounded corners and flat sides give it a sleek, modern look. It is available in silver or Space Black.
The iPad Pro M4 is powered by a 4.4 GHz Apple M4 processor with configurations based on storage capacity. Models with 256 GB or 512 GB of storage feature a 9-core CPU (3 performance, 6 efficiency), 10-core GPU, and 8 GB of onboard RAM. Models with 1 TB or 2 TB of storage have a 10-core CPU (4 performance, 6 efficiency), 10-core GPU, and 16 GB of onboard RAM. These higher-capacity models can also be configured with Nano-texture glass for reduced glare.
Connectivity options on the iPad Pro M4 11-inch include a Thunderbolt/USB 4 port, a Smart Connector for external keyboards and trackpads, and compatibility with the new Apple Pencil Pro, which offers additional sensors for enhanced interactivity. The Apple Pencil Pro charges magnetically on the side of the device.
The iPad Pro M4 11-inch is equipped with advanced camera systems, including a landscape-oriented 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera that supports 1080p video recording, Center Stage for automatic panning and zooming, and Face ID authentication. The rear camera is a 12-megapixel Wide camera capable of 4K video recording.
Additional connectivity features include simultaneous dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6E) with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.3, a studio-quality four-mic array, and a four-speaker system. The battery life is estimated at 10 hours of web surfing on Wi-Fi or watching video and 9 hours using cellular data. This model supports eSIM for carrier switching but does not have a physical SIM slot.
Compared to its predecessor, the iPad Pro M4 11-inch is thinner and faster, with an improved display and a landscape-oriented front camera. It supports the more capable Apple Pencil Pro but lacks the Ultra Wide rear camera found in earlier models and has one fewer internal microphone. The cellular model sold in the US no longer supports mmWave 5G or physical SIM cards.
This iPad Pro model also includes a USB-C charge cable and a 20W USB-C power adapter. It runs on iPadOS 17.5, which offers a range of new features and enhancements for a better user experience.
