About this iPad Air
The iPad A2588 was released on March 8, 2022, and is a Wi-Fi only model which doesn’t support cellular connectivity or A-GPS. Compared to its predecessors, the A2588 comes with the new faster processor, the Apple M1, which offers much better technical specifications. Instead of Face id, the unit provides Touch identification, thanks to the authentication sensor on the phone’s top button. The device supports the Apple pencil 2nd Gen also added as an option. The internal RAM is 8GB, and users can choose a flash memory option between 64 GB and 256 GB.
The device has a “Liquid Retina” fully-laminated and anti-reflective display, with a resolution of 2360×1640 pixels (264 ppi, 500 nits). Its size is 10.9” and is packed into a thin case with rounded corners. The display reflectivity is 1.8%.
The camera system comes with two cameras – front and rear. The front one has a 12MP resolution and is an ultrawide camera with 122 degrees field of view and f/2.4 aperture. It shoots up to 1080p video, and the “Center Stage” technology enables the subject to keep the center position on the screen all the time. The 12MP rear-mounted camera is the “Wide” one that shoots up to 4K video with f/1.8 aperture and auto image stabilization.
In addition to a USB-C port, other connectivity options are 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6), simultaneous dual-band (2.4GHz/5 GHz), HT80 with MIMO capability, and Bluetooth 5.0. It also has a dual microphone and stereo speakers.
The case has one of five colors: dark “Space Gray,” a warm gray “Starlight,” or pink, purple, or blue.
