The 6th generation iPad is very similar to its predecessor. It features the same external housing with many of the same internal components. The biggest upgrade is to the processor which has been updated from an A9 to an A10, allowing for speeds up to 2.3 GHz. Another notable feature of this iPad is its ability to use the Apple Pencil.
Previously the Apple Pencil has been restricted to iPad Pro variants only. Users will now be able to enjoy the full functionality of the Apple ecosystem without having to pay extra to attain a Pro variant. Whilst this is in the same era of Apple getting rid of physical home buttons, this iPad is still fitted with a home button which also functions as a Touch ID sensor.
