The MacBook has a 13.3” widescreen that incorporates a TFT active-matrix “glossy display”. Itfeatures a backlight that is 79% brighter than the iBook that preceded it. Applications run with a 2 MB Level 2 cache plus a 1066 MHz frontside bus with1 GB of 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM (PC3-8500) for its RAM. This is all centered around a 64-Bit architecture.

Apple reports that this specific MacBook model has a 45-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery that provides 5 hours of wireless productivity.
Upgradeability
Apple officially supports that this device has a maximum of 4 GB of RAM. However, it has been confirmed by site sponsor OWC that this device is capable of supporting 8 GB of RAM if it is updated to Boot ROM Version MB51.007D.B03 and running MacOS X 10.6 “Snow Leopard” or higher. The operatingsystem of the MacBook can also be upgraded from its pre-installed MacOS X 10.5.5 to up to MacOS X 10.11. It can also run Windows OS XP SP 2 (32-Bit) and accommodates operating systems as recent as the Windows 7 (32-Bit). With dimensions of 2.41 in x 32.5 in x 22.7 in and weight of 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg) the MacBook 13 Inch Core Duo (2 GHz) 2008 is both powerful and portable.
